If and lets hope you did modeled everything as discreet meshes like your studs beams etc by which i mean they don t share faces edges or vertices in you remodeling plan object then just select a faces edges or vertex on a stud for example and simply press the l hot key this will select all the linked parts of the mesh then press the p hot key to separate it from the rest of your.

And the objects can even be touching as long as the vertices are not connected. The reason they are one object is because you are adding new meshes in edit mode.
Select one of these smaller objects and go into edit mode. Press p and choose by loose parts. Separates the selected elements. You can either separate just the selected verts or all loose parts.
This is useful if your original mesh has parts that are not connected to the rest of the mesh.
